Angels Unexpectedly Cut Albert Pujols

Angels manager Joe Maddon said Pujols wants to play first base regularly for another team after he clears waivers, something the Angels were apparently unwilling to allow.

The three-time NL MVP was in the final year of a 10-year, $240 million contract with L.A., after 11 seasons with the St. Louis Cardinals. Pujols is the oldest active Major League Baseball player.
