The Hearts took the early lead in the second when Quest Hull drove in a run when he singled. EHS then moved into the lead for good with two runs in the fourth. Max Nelson singled on the first pitch, scoring one run and Jackson Lee grounded out, scoring the second run.
Josh McDevitt earned the win. The hurler went three innings, allowing no runs on no hits while striking out seven.
The Hearts had 11 hits on the day. Jack Blickem had three singles and drove in two runs while Gauge Massey had two singles. Christian Raddatz had the lone extra base hit with a double and an RBI.
In the junior varsity contest, EHS fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 7-3 loss to Shelbyville. The Rams held a 7-0 lead before the Hearts scored three runs in the seventh led by Noah Biggs and Evan Waymoth, driving in runs in the inning.

At Teutopolis
Teutopolis hosted Benton and there were enough runs for two or three games as the Wooden Shoes had 22 runs cross the plate while beating Benton, 22-16 Tuesday.
Benton held a 6-2 opening inning lead before the Shoes came back to tie in the second 7-7. The Shoes led 12-11 after four and 18-16 after five then scored four more in the sixth.
Seven hits were extra-base hits as the Shoes pounded out 22 in the contest. Six players had at least two hits in the contest.
Kayden Althoff produced four singles, a double and drove in six runs while Evan Addis had three singles, a home run and four RBI. Andrew Niebrugge had two singles, a home run and three RBI, Derek Konkel two singles, a double and two RBI, Evan Wermert a single, double and two RBI, Dylan Pruemer two singles and two RBI, Mitch Althoff a double and two RBI and Logan Roepke a double and an RBI.
Hayden Ruholl was the third pitcher and picked up the win on the mound by doing the final three innings, allowing five runs on three hits, one walk and striking out two.
The Wooden Shoes improved to 7-2 on the spring while Benton dropped to 4-3.
T-town is back in action Thursday at Olney.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City produced 13 runs on nine hits in downing Martinsville, 13-2 in five innings Tuesday.
CHBC edged out to a 2-0 first inning lead and then had a five-run second and scored three runs in the third and fourth innings.
The Bobcats had nine hits led by S. Doty with a single, double and four RBI, C. Wojcik with three singles, Q. Schlanser with a triple and D. Waters with a double.
M. Manley picked up the pitching win, going two innings, allowing one run on no hits, three walks while striking out three.

The Cougars took a 2-0 opening inning lead then tallied six in the second and four in the third.
Chase Dodson had two singles, a home run and drove in three runs for the winners. E. Dunn had two doubles and two RBI while B. Jolliff and H. Cripe had a double each. Jolliff drove in two runs. S. Cowger had two singles and two RBI. A. Dodson had a single and finished with three RBI.
A. Dodson also picked up the pitching win, going the first three innings, allowing no runs on one hit, one walk while striking out four.

Dieterich took the early lead and went on for an 11-3 victory over Ramsey Tuesday.
The Movin' Maroons had a 10-hit attack and were aided by seven Ramsey errors.
Pete Britton had three singles, a home run and six RBI while M. Hunzinger and N. Dill had two singles each. Hunzinger added an RBI.
D. Will was the winner on the mound, going three innings, allowing one run on two hits, two walks and four strikeouts.

Newton ripped out to a 5-0 opening inning lead and handed Neoga a 10-1 loss in Tuesday action.
The Eagles had nine hits led by william Geier with a single, double and three RBI, Aaron Einhorn with a single, double and an RBI and Kaleb Probst with a double. Ben Meinhart had two singles.
Neoga had three hits, singles by Adam Fearday, Nate Lacy and Isaac Walk, Walk had the lone RBI.
