Effingham High School had all cylinders firing on offense in Saturday's 15-1 baseball victory over Olney.

The Hearts's Jackson Lee tripled on a 1-0 count, scoring a run in the first inning. The Hearts put up six runs in the third. Gabe Eaton, Preston Latch, Jack Blickem, Max Hardiek and Christian Raddatz each drove in runs during the frame.

Blickem pitched the Hearts to the win, surrendering one run on two hits over five innings and striking out eight.

The Hearts had 11 hits on the day, Raddatz had two doubles and two RBI while Blickem had three singles and four RBI. Cunningham had a double and Lee a triple and an RBI.

At Olney

At St. Anthony

Effingham St. Anthony edged Altamont, 6-5 in Friday action.

The Bulldogs took a 1-0 lead in the second before Altamont moved ahead in the top of the third with two runs. The Bulldogs tied in the bottom of the frame. The Indians held a 4-3 lead after five innings and then moved that to 5-3 in the top of the sixth.

St. Anthony came back with three runs in the bottom of the sixth for the victory. The Bulldogs had seven hits led by Angelo Mendella with two doubles and two RBI while Kennan Walsh had two singles and two RBI and Will Hoene a double. Colton Fearday had a single and drove in two runs.

Altamont was led by Kaden Eirhart with three singles, a triple and two RBI and Mason Robinson with a double and two RBI. Logan Cornett had two singles.

Antrim went five innings allowing four runs on six hits, two walks while striking out 11. Fearday picked up the win, going two innings, allowing one run on three hits, one walk and three strikeouts.

At St. Anthony

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis claimed two victories in Saturday competition over Fairfield.

The Wooden Shoes took the opener 8-7, winning the game in the bottom of the seventh with two runs.

T-town trailed 4-1 after three inings then scored two in the bottom of the fourth. Fairfield moved ahead 7-3 in the top of the sixth but the Shoes pulled back within two in the bottom of the sixth with three runs then won in the seventh.

T-town had 12 hits led by Kayden Althoff with a single, double and two RBI, Evan Wermert with a double and an RBI and Dylan Pruemer with three singles.

In the second game, T-town again edged the Mules, this time in the bottom of the ninth. The Shoes held a 4-0 lead after two innings and led 4-2 after five. Fairfield tied in the top of the sixth and the game went into extra innings.

T-town had 10 hits led by Mitch Althoff with a single, double and an RBI and Joey Ruholl and Luke Koester with wo singles each.

In Saturday action, T-town fell to St. Joseph-Ogden, 10-7.

St. Joseph-Ogden had a 13-hit attack and T-town committed four errors.

The Shoes led 5-2 after three innings before St. Joseph-Ogden came back with three in the fourth, one in the fifth and one in the seventh that tied the score at 7-7. The squad then won with three runs in the eighth.

T-town had 11 hits led by Sam Bushur with two singles, a double and an RBI while Addis had a single, double and an RBI and Wermert two singles.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City blanked Ramsey, 11-0 in five innings via the 10-run rule Friday.

CHBC scored a run in the second, nine in the third and one in the fourth.

Q. Schlanser led the way for the Bobcats with three singles and two RBI while S. Buzzard had two singles and M. Manley had a single and drove in two runs.

Buzzard picked up the win on the mound, allowing three hits, no walks and striking out two in two innings.

At Ramsey

At Brownstown

Brownstown/St. Elmo was a winner in five innings over Oblong, 10-0 Friday.

Dalton Myers threw a no-hitter over the five innings, allowing one walk while striking out seven.

The Bombers tallied a run in the first, then had three-run innings in the second, third and fifth to end the contest tvia the 10-run rule.

BSE had eight hits led by Jace McWhorter with a triple, home run and three RBI and Nick Nelson with two doubles and two RBI. Dalton Myers had a single and drove in two runs while Lukas Miller had a single and an RBI.

BSE improves to 2-2 on the season.

At Brownstown

At Neoga

Neoga tallied a 10-6 win over Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg Friday.

The Indians ran out to a 5-0 first inning lead but WSS pulled within 6-5 in the third and tied in the top of the fourth. However, Neoga scored four more in the bottom of the fourth for the win.

Luke Romack had a double and drove in three runs for the winners while Nate Lacy had a double and an RBI and Wil O'Dell two singles and an RBI.

Romack was the winning pitcher, going four innings, allowing six runs on six hits, three walks and striking out two.
