EHS Blanks Marshall, 13-0 In Baseball

Effingham High School blanked Marshall, 13-0 Friday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Josh McDevitt struck out Hendrix to finish off the game.

Effingham secured the victory thanks to seven runs in the third inning. The Hearts' big inning was driven by walks to Christian Raddatz, Max Hardiek, Preston Latch and Brayden Pals and singles by Quest Hull and Gauge Massey.

The Hearts got on board in the first inning. Joe Matteson's sacrifice fly scored one run. EHS then tallied seven in the third inning. Batters contributing included Rraddtaz, Hardiek, Latch, Pals, Hull and Massey.

Jackson Lee got the win on the mound going four innings, allowing no runs on one hit and striking out eight.
