N. Clay, Newton Win, T-town Splits, Altamont Falls

North Clay edged out to a 2-0 opening inning lead then added on a single run in the third and finished with two in the fifth. Neoga's run came in the sixth.
Clifton was the big hitter for the Cardinals with a triple, home run and three RBI. Ingram also was banging out the hits with two singles, a double and two RBI.
Zimmerman claimed the win on the mound, going four innings, allowing no runs on three hits, one walk and four strikeouts.
The Indians were led by Nate Lacy with a single and double. Brady Reyolds had two singles.

At Newton
Newton got on the board in the first inning to hand Dieterich a 4-1 loss Saturday.
The Eagles tallied three runs in the first then tacked on one more in the fourth.
Newton finished with seven hits led by W. Geier with two home runs and three RBI, J. Rice with two doubles and B. Meinhart with a triple.
Pete Britton led the Movin' Maroons with a double that drove in the lone run in the sixth.
Geier, along with being the big hitter, also threw all seven innings, allowing one run on three hits, two walks while striking out five.

At Teutopolis
Teutopolis split victories with a couple of tough teams during Saturday play.
The Wooden Shoes won the opener over Pleasant Plains, 10-8. The Shoes ripped out to a 4-0 opening inning lead, led 6-1 after the third inning and 8-2 after five. Pleasant Plains pulled within three runs in the top of the sixth but the Shoes retaliated with two in the bottom of the sixth.
Pleasant Plains rallied in the top of the seventh with three runs but fell short.
T-town banged out 11 hits in the contest led by Kayden Althoff with two singles and a double, Andy Niebrugge with two singles and three RBI, Caleb Bloemer with two singles, Evan Addis with a double and an RBI and Logan Roepke with a double and two RBI.
In the second contest, Harrisburg pitchers combined to throw a three-hitter and take a 12-3 victory over the Shoes.
The contest was close through five innings. Harrisburg jumped on board with a single run in the first inning. The two teams went scoreless through the next three before T-town tied the score in the bottom of the fifth.
But the Bulldogs broke loose with three runs in the sixth and two more in the seventh. J. Beal led the way for the winners with two doubles, a home run and two RBI.
T-town had three hits, singles by K. Althoff, Niebrugge and Addis..
In the other contest of the day, Harrisburg blanked Pleasant Plains, 10-0. Harrisburg has a 4-0 record.
The Wooden Shoes are now 2-1 on the season and will host Neoga Monday.

At Shelbyville
Altamont fell to Shelbyville in both a junior varsity and a varsity contest Friday.
Shelbyville beat the Indians, 5-4 in the varsity game. The Indains ripped out to a 4-0 opening inning lead. But Shelbyville started a slow comeback, scoring a run in the second, one in the fifth and one in the sixth before finishing out with the victory in the bottom of the seventh with two runs.
Altamont outhit the Rams, 7-3. Brayden Stuemke and Mason Robinson had two singles each. Wyatt Phillips drove in two runs with a single.
In the JV matchup, Shelbyville was a 6-4 winner.
