South Central, Dieterich, BSE, N. Clay Nab Baseball Wins

South Central put together two big innings later in the contest to beat Effingham St. Anthony 7-4 in high school baseball competition Tuesday.
The Bulldogs had taken a 1-0 first inning lead and led 4-0 after three innings. However, the Cougars tallied four runs in the fourth to knot the score and then brought home three more in the sixth for a 7-4 victory.
Chase Dodson threw a five-hitter in six innings for the win on the mound. He allowed three walks while striking out nine. Aiden Dodson came on in the final inning with one strikeout.
The Cougars had eight hits led by Spencer Johannes with a single, double and an RBI. Chase Thompson added two singles and two RBI. A. Dodson had a double and Ethan Dunn a double and an RBI.
St. Anthony had five hits led by Brody Niebrugge with a single, double and an RBI and Logan Antrim with a double. Eli Moore had a single and two RBI.

At Brownstown
With a perfect 7-0 record in the National Trail Conference, Altamont should have won over Brownstown/St. Elmo Tuesday.
However, BSE put the skids on that with a 5-3 win.
The Bombers trailed Altamont 3-2 after three ininngs and came through with a three-run fourth to pull out the win. BSE had eight hits and was aided by three Altamont errors.
Jace McWhorter had three singles while Adam Atwood had two singles and drove in two runs and Wyatt Chandler had a double and an RBI.
BSE is 1-7 in the NTC, 6-10 overall.
Altamont was led by Brayden Stuemke with three singles and Bradin Baucum with two singles. Wyatt Phillips added a single and an RBI. The Indians drop to 7-1 in the conference.

At Windsor
Dieterich held off Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg for a 4-3 victory Tuesday.
The Movin' Maroons held a 3-0 lead after three innings. WSS came back with two in the fifth. Dieterich then tallied what would prove to be the winning run in the top of the seventh.
The Hatchets weren't out of it yet, scoring a run in the bottom of the seventh but still fell short.
WSS outhit Dieterich by a 10-5 count. A. Wittenberg and Chaney had two singles each while J. Wittenberg added a double and an RBI. Vonderheide had an RBI and Beals a single and an RBI.
Dieterich was led by Garrett Niebrugge with a double and an RBI. Pete Britton and Seth Bushur had a single and an RBI each.
Britton was the winning pitcher going six innings allowing eight hits, two walks while striking out four.

North Clay (Louisville) tallied a 6-1 victory over Neoga in action Tuesday.
The Cardinals held a 1-0 first inning lead then tacked on three in the second and single runs in the fifth and sixth.
Neoga didn't score until the top of the seventh.
Holden Clifton had a double and an RBI for the winners while Weidner added a double. Donnie Zimmerman had two singles and drove in two runs. Brady Ingram had a single and an RBI while Logan Fleener had an RBI.
Neoga was led by Kaden Young and Alex Ramert with two singles each. Brady Reynolds had an RBI.
