Members of the Effingham St. Anthony regional champions were, first row, left to right, Kallen Emmerich, Maddux Clark, Dakota Flaig, Keenan Griffith and Maddox Wiedman. Effingham St. Anthony claimed the championship of the Class 1A Baseball Regional Saturday.
The Bullpups blanked Effingham Sacred Heart 6-0. St. Anthony stepped out to a 4-0 opening inning lead then tacked on two runs in the fifth.
St. Anthony banged out 13 hits in the contest led by S. Link with two singles, a double and two RBI, M. Seachrist with three singles, A. Lauritzen with a triple and an RBI and H. Brent with a double, triple and two RBI.
Link was the winning pitcher throwing five innings allowing five hits, one walk while striking out seven.
Sacred Heart had five hits, all singles by Karolewicz, Sparks, Traub, Wright and Gibson.
The Bullpups had an undefeated season with a 12-0 record and were also South Central Conference champions.

Class 3A Regional
Effingham fell to Mattoon in the championship of the Class 3A Regional at Mattoon Saturday, 8-2.
Mattoon tallied a single run in the fourth then pushed that lead to 6-0 in the fifth. Effingham tallied two runs in the top of the sixth but Mattoon came back to score two runs in the bottom of the frame.
The Mustangs had only two hits, singles by Wyatt Hayes and Brody Boehm.

Teutopolis claimed the Class 2A Regional championship.
Class 2A
Teutopolis claimed the championship of the Class 2A Regional on their home field Saturday.
T-town defeated Stewardson-Strasburg, 11-2. The Wooden Shoes ran off to a 10-0 opening inning lead. Luke Niemerg, Carter Hoene, Jason Kreke, Alex Kremer, Dylan Hartman and Jake Bushur each had an RBI. Bushur got his RBI on a solo home run. He finished with two singles to go along with his three hits in four at-bats.
Stew-Stras scored a run in the fifth and pulled within 10-2 in the sixth. T-town scored a final run in the sixth.
Mick Niebrugge got the win for T-town allowing five hits, two runs over six innings while striking out two. Carter Hoene threw one inning in relief.

Sigel St. Michael captured the championship of the Class 1A Regional.
The Sharpshooters were the top seed and downed North Clay (Louisville), 4-2.
Class 2A Regional
Jasper County claimed a regional championship.
Jasper County, seeded No. 2, upset top-seeded Larenceville Parkview, 2-0.
