It will be an all-Effingham championship game in the Class 1A Baseball Regional Saturday.

 

Effingham St. Anthony blanked Neoga, 12-0 Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Effingham Sacred Heart was a 10-0 winner over Okaw Valley.

The Shamrocks took a 1-0 first inning lead then had four-run innings in the second and sixth around another single run in the fourth.

Sacred Heart had eight hits led by Karolewicz and Borries with two singles and an RBI each. Wright had a single and two RBI and Sparks a single and an RBI. Wallace finished with two RBI and Hecht added an RBI.

Borries picked up the win on the mound throwing a two-hitter.

St. Anthony will play host to Sacred Heart Saturday in the championship game scheduled for 10 a.m.

Class 3A Regional

Effingham moved into the championship game of the Class 3A Regional after a win Tuesday.

The Mustangs edged Charleston, 3-2. Effingham scored a run in the first and two in the second. Charleston's runs came in the sixth and seventh.

Effingham had four hits led by Max Flack with a double.

Rylan Pals went 5.2 innings on the mound allowing two hits, one run, three walks and striking out three for the win.

Mattoon won the other contest, 7-2 over Marshall.

Mattoon will now play host to Effingham at 10 a.m. Saturday for the regional championship.

Class 3A Regional

Class 1A Regional

Sigel St. Michael and North Clay (Louisville) advanced to the Class 1A championship game with victories Tuesday..

The Sharpshooters blanked Newton St. Thomas, 12-0.

North Clay (Louisville) then won over Dieterich, 15-4.

As the top seed, St. Michael plays host to North Clay at 10 a.m. Saturday.

 

Class 2A Regional

Stewardson-Strasburg, seeded No. 4, moved into the championship game by edging top-seeded South Central, 3-2 Tuesday.

Teutopolis claimed a 7-6 win over Shelbyville Moulton. The score was tied at 2-2 in the first inning and Shelbyville moved ahead 4-2 in the third. T-town pulled within 4-3 in the fourth. Moulton moved up 5-3 in the top of the sixth but the Shoes came back in the bottom of the inning to tie the score.

Moulton went ahead in the top of the seventh 6-5 but here came T-town, scoring two runs in the bottom of the inning with a walk-off home run by Jake Bushur.

T-town tallied eight hits with Jason Kreke and Carter Hoene garnering two each.

The Wooden Shoes, seeded second, will play host to Stewardson-Strasburg in a 10 a.m. championship game Saturday.

Class 2A Regional

Class 2A Regional

The top two seeds advanced to the championship game in this Class 2A Regional Tuesday.

Lawrenceville Parkview defeated Red Hill (Bridgeport), 9-2.

Jasper County edged Casey-Westfield, 5-4.

Top-seeded Lawrenceville Parkview will play host to No. 2 seeded Jasper County at 11 a.m. Saturday for the championship.
