CHBC, BSE Claim Opening Wins In EIC Tourney

CHBC took a 4-0 lead over Mulberry Grove in the third inning then tacked on another run in the fifth for a 5-0 victory.
CHBC had only two hits but was aided by four Mulberry Grove errors.
The Bobcats had singles from Quaid Schlanser and Gage Lorton. Schlanser drove in a run. Wes Radloff had two RBI.
Mason Manley went four innings for the win on the mound allowing no hits, one walk while striiking out nine.
In the other contest, Brownstown/St. Elmo pounded Ramsey, 12-0 behind a 12-hit attack.
BSE took a 4-0 first inning lead, tacked on five in the third and three in the fourth ending the game via the 10-run rule.
David Stine had three doubles and drove in four runs for the winners. Jace McWhorter had a single, double and an RBI while Wyatt Chandler had a single and triple. Brady Maxey had a double and drove in two runs.
Adam Atwood was the winner on the mound going 3.1 innings allowing no runs on two hits, no walks while striking out three.
The tournament continues today as CHBC faces Ramsey at 4:15 p.m. and BSE takes on Mulberry Grove at 4:15 p.m.

At Dieterich
In a National Trail Conference contest, South Central's Ethan Watwood went six innings allowing one run on two hits as the Cougars won 9-1 over Dieterich Monday.
Watwood did give up six walks but also had six strikeouts.
The score was tied at 1-1 after three innings before the Cougars ripped off four runs in the fifth, three in the sixth and finished out with one n the seventh.
Chase Dodson had a single double, home run and drove in five of the nine runs. Aiden Dodson chipped in wth a double while Beau Jolliff and Watwood had two singles each.
Dieterich was led by Pete Britton with a double and an RBI.
