St. Louis kept its playoff hopes alive with a 2-1 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates Sunday.

The Cardinals moved within 3-1/2 games of the first place Cubs in the National League Central. The Cubs were blanked by Minnesota 4-0.

Cincinnati beat the White Sox 7-3.

The Sox are two games up on Minnesota in the American League Central.

This is the final week of the regular season.
