Cardinals Split DH, Cubs Beat Reds

ST. LOUIS -- St. Louis and Minnesota split a doubleheader Tuesday at Busch Stadium.
The Twins won the opener 7-3 behind an 11-hit attack, taking a 3-0 lead in the third.
St. Louis had only four hits, two singles by Paul Goldschmidt and a two-run homer by Tommy Edman.
The Cardinals came back in the second game to down the Twins 6-4. St. Louis had a big five-run third inning. Matt Carpenter singled to start off the third followed by Matt Wieters getting hit by a pitch. Harrison Bader drew a walk and Carpenter scored when Tommy Edman was hit by a pitch.
Paul DeJong walked and the second run came home. Brad Miller grounded out for a fielder's choice and Bader reached home. Rangel Ravelo singled home a run.
At Chicago
Alec Mills produced a stellar performance on the mound as the Chicago Cubs downed the Cincinnati Reds, 3-0 Tuesday.
Mills went six innings allowing four hits, three walks and striking out six to improve his record to 4-3 on the season.
The Cubs improved to 25-18 on the season. David Bote had the lone extra base hit for the Cubs with a triple and drove in two runs. Javier Baez drove in a run on a single.
