Junior High Baseball Results -- Sept. 3

Effingham claimed a 4-2 win over Charleston in junior high baseball Thursday.

The Mustangs edged out to a 2-1 opening inning lead then tacked on a run in the fourth and one in the sixth.

Effingham had eight hits led by C. Webb with two singles and an RBI, A. Flack with two singles and an RBI and B. Boehm with two singles.

R. Pals was the winning pitcher going six innings allowing six hits, two runs, three walks and striking out seven.

Stewardson-Strasburg picked up an 18-2 win over Brownstown/St. Elmo in junior high baseball action Thursday.

Stew-Stras tallied seven in the first inning then added 11 in the second. The contest ended after the third inning.

J. Gurgel had two doubles and two RBI for the winners while O. Wascher had a single, double and two RBI, D. Friese two singles and two RBI, B. Tinley two singles and an RBI and C. Verdeyen a double and an RBI.

BSE had three singles by G. Wilhour, K. Speagle and D. Willms.

B. Verdeyen was the winning pitcher going three innings allowing three hits, no walks and striking out five.
