Teutopolis Beats Neoga, 14-8 In Baseball Play

The Wooden Shoes edged out to a 3-0 first inning lead. With one out, Evan Addis singled followed by Sam Bushur with a single and Matt Deters with a single. Kayden Althoff followed with a double.
T-town pushed that lead to 5-0 in the top of the second as Justin Hardiek had a single. Addis drew a walk and Bushur had a single.
Neoga then came back to move ahead with a seven-run second inning. In the inning, Isaac Walk singled to start the frame followed by singles by Treyton Vaughn and Malachi Staszak. With one out, Bryar Hennesay reached on a fielder's choice and Ryan Koester reached on an error. Kaden Young doubled and Brady Reynolds singled. Adam Fearday had a single, Walk drew a base on balls and Vaughn got his second single of the inning.
The Shoes retaliated with a four-run fourth. Bushur hit a solo home run to start the inning. Konkel reached on an error and K. Althoff singled. M. Althoff followed with a single.
The Shoes then tacked on a single run in the sixth and four more in the seventh.
T-town had 13 hits led by Bushur with two singles, two home runs and six RBI while Pruemer had a single, home run and two RBI and K. Althoff a single, double and an RBI.
Neoga had 11 hits led by Vaughn with three singles and three RBI and Young with a single, double and an RBI. The Indians are back in action today at South Central.
T-town will return to play Saturday in the Wooden Bat Classic playing host to North Clay (Louisville) at 9 a.m. at Teutopolis while St. Anthony and Dieterich will meet at Paul Smith Field at 9. The winners advance to the championship game at noon at Teutopolis while the losers will play for third place at Paul Smith Field at noon.
