Junior High Baseball Results -- Aug. 24

Effingham Sacred Heart pounded Brownstown/St. Elmo, 16-0 in five innings of junior high baseball action Monday.

The Shamrocks stepped out to a 4-0 opening inning lead, had a two-run second, a seven-run third and a three-run fourth.

Sacred Heart had 10 hits led by Sparks with three singles, a double and an RBI, Wallace with a single, double and an RBI and Borries with a double and two RBI.

Quinten Lockhart threw 55 pitches over four innings, striking out five and allowing one hit.

BSE had a single by L. Wilhour.
