Cubs Reach 11,000 Wins, Cardinals Beat Royals

The Cubs got their first victory in 1876. The Giants are the only franchise that has more than 11,000 wins, with 11,179, after beginning in New York in 1883 and later moving to San Francisco.

However, the Dodgers, who started in Brooklyn and then moved to Los Angeles, are almost at the 11,000 wins threshold, currently at 10,996.

At St. Louis

Paul Goldschmidt reached base four times as the St. Louis Cardinals handed the Kansas City Royals a 9-3 loss at Busch Stadium Monday.

Goldschmidt walked in the opening inning then came through with a singles in the third and fifth innings and hit a two-run shot in the sixth.
The Cardinals finished with 12 hits in the game while four Cardinals pitchers held Kansas City to four.
