Cardinals Fall to Yankees

(Tampa, FL)  --  Lance Lynn turned in four innings of one-run ball but the Cardinals fell to the Yankees Monday, 4-0. St. Louis managed just six hits, two of which went to J.R. Towles.  The Cards dipped to 8-and-7 this spring. The Redbirds play the Braves today at Disney.

Cardinals manager Mike Matheny is recovering after undergoing surgery on his ailing back Monday in St. Louis. Cards GM John Mozeliak says Matheny is doing well, but needs to take things slow over the next few weeks. Matheny was originally scheduled to return to the team in Florida Thursday, but Mozeliak says the team will take the decision "day by day" to see how he recovers.

Cubs Clip D'backs

(Scottsdale, AZ)  --  Welington Castillo hit a two-run homer as the Cubs clipped the Diamondbacks 7-5 in Scottsdale. Adam Eaton and Didi Gregorius both went deep for Arizona, which has lost four-of-five in Cactus League play. Trevor Cahill allowed just one run on three hits while striking out five over four innings. The D'backs meet the Mariners today in Peoria.
