Jon Lester picked up his second win on the mound going six innings, allowing three hits, two walks, one run and striking out four.
With the Cubs taking a 1-0 second inning lead, Jason Heyward proved the big hitter of the day with two singles, a three-run homer with two outs in the five-run sixth. He finished with four RBI and the Cubs led 6-1. Chicago tacked on a final run in the seventh.
Javier had a single and double while Jason Kipnis earned a double, Ian Happ contributed two singles and an RBI in the 11 hit attack.
The Indians committed a whopping 11 errors.
It was the seventh win in eight games for the Cubs and moved their record to 11-3.
Astros' Cintron Slapped With Suspension
Houston Astros coach Alex Cintron has been slapped with a 20-game suspension for instigating a brawl between the Astros and the Oakland Athletics at Sunday’s game.
Athletics outfielder Ramon Laureano was suspended for six games for his role in the melee. Cintron apologized for his role in the incident while continuing to deny that he ever made a reference, profane or otherwise, to Laureano’s mother.
