Atlanta Braves outfielder Nick Markakis has changed his mind after opting out of the coronavirus-shortened MLB season three weeks ago and is going to join his team.

Markakis explained Thursday that he had a change of heart after watching his teammates play their first five games: “Sitting at home, watching these guys compete . . . and all the risks they’re going through going out there, in the pit of my stomach I felt I wanted to be out there.”
