Nick Gardewine Pitches No-Hitter for Kaskaskia

Freshman right-handed pitcher Nick Gardewine threw a no-hitter in his third collegiate start for Kaskaskia College Friday.

Gardewine struck out 10 and allowed three walks as Kaskaskia defeated Lake Land College 10-0 in seven innings.

Kaskaskia had nine hits to go with its 10 runs and was led by Landon Diaz with three hits and two RBI.

In the Sunday doubleheader, Kaskaskia swept Lake Land, winning 10-5 and 5-3. In the opener Steven Reynolds pitched an eight-hitter with six strikeouts. Dennon Koziol had a single, triple and an RBI.

On the season Gardewine is 2-0 with 20 innings pitched, 24 strikeouts and has allowed only one run. Kaskaskia is 7-2 on the season.
