MLB Players Begin To Report To Their Teams

Major League Baseball players began reporting to their teams and home ballparks Wednesday ahead of coronavirus-shortened, 60-game season due to begin in about three weeks.

Most of the players underwent health checks, including for the coronavirus, with planned workouts set to begin Friday and Saturday.

 

Mexico Has Canceled Pro Baseball Season

Mexico has canceled its pro baseball season for the first time in 95 years due to the pandemic, with the Mexican Baseball League announcing the news Thursday.

The summer season had been scheduled to start August 7, but the team owners decided they couldn’t guarantee the safety of players and fans, and it wasn’t economically possible to play without fans in the stands.
