MLB Working On Delayed 2020 Season

Major League Baseball is working on finishing its proposal for a delayed 2020 season, which would begin in early July and have an 80-game schedule, ‘The Athletic’ said Saturday.

Teams would play regionalized schedules, and games would be played in as many home cities as possible. There will be no fans, at least initially. The report said the proposal will be discussed by owners today and be presented to the players’ union on Tuesday. 

 

Small Percentage Tests Posiitive

A test done in mid-April of 5,754 Major League Baseball employees found that just 60 tested positive for having coronavirus antibodies, meaning they’d been infected in the past, according to study results released Sunday. Of those who had antibodies, about 70 percent had been asymptomatic. MLB volunteered to participate in the study, the largest coronavirus-related antibodies study in the U.S.
