Al Kaline Dies At Age 85 Monday

Baseball Hall-of-Fame outfielder Al Kaline, who spent his entire 22-year career with the Detroit Tigers, died Monday, with no cause of death given. He was 85.

Kaline, a beloved figure dubbed “Mr. Tiger,” was a 15-time All-Star, won 10 Gold Gloves, and was the youngest player to win the American League batting title in 1955 at age 20. He ended his career after the 1974 season with 3,007 hits and 399 home runs.
