Thursday was supposed to be the first day of the 2020 Major League Baseball season, but the coronavirus took care of that.

There had to be something that could be done to celebrate the season, whenever it comes, and something that kept social distancing in mind.

My remedy? A trip to Evergreen Hollow Park to check out the new wooden outfield fence built on the baseball diamond. It's pretty snazzy, growing from a certain height in the power alleys to a higher point in centerfield. There are also wooden areas in the corners. It looks sharp, and was a nice reminder of what will, eventually, be happening at the ballparks, here, and across the nation.

Hold onto that thought in these strange days.
