Major League Baseball is considering expanding the playoffs to 14 teams, up from the current 10 and nearly half of the overall 30 teams, with four wild cards in each league instead of two, according to reports Monday. Additionally, higher-seeded wild-card teams would be able to choose their opponents, doing so during a televised show. Any changes would have to be agreed to by the players' association.

Bolsinger Sues Astros

Former Toronto Blue Jays relief pitcher Mike Bolsinger sued the Houston Astros Monday, charging their sign-stealing scheme contributed to a bad outing in August 2017 that ended his MLB career. He is seeking damages for interfering with and harming his career. During the August 4, 2017 game, Bolsinger allowed four runs, four hits and three walks in one-third of an inning and “was immediately terminated and cut from the team, never to return to Major League Baseball again.”
