The Detroit Tigers have agreed to a deal with former Yankees backup catcher Austin Romine. The deal is reported to be for one year and $4.1 million.

 

MLB, Players Association Agree To Begin Testing

Major League Baseball and the Players’ Association have agreed to begin testing players for opioids. The move comes after last summer’s overdose death of Los Angeles Angels pitcher Tyler Skaggs. Skaggs was first given the drugs after undergoing Tommy John surgery five years earlier and it’s speculated that’s how he became addicted.
