Nationals Pull Out Victory to Take World Series

The Washington Nationals completed an amazing turnaround by beating the Houston Astros 6-2 in Game 7 of the World Series Wednesday night.

The Nationals were nearly out of contention in May, but used a seventh inning rally to come from behind and claim the first title in franchise history, dating back to their days as the Montreal Expos.

Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman announced before Wednesday night’s game that his maternal grandfather had died just hours earlier. Bregman also posted a photo on his Instagram Story of his family surrounding his grandpa, with the message: “RIP tonight is for you.”  

 

Former AL MVP Hamilton Arrested

Former American League MVP Josh Hamilton was arrested on third-degree felony child abuse charges Wednesday. The arrest followed an alleged incident last month in which he’s accused of beating one of his three daughters with a closed fist.
