Washington Sweeps Cardinals, On to World Series; Astros Beat Yankees to Go Up 2-1

The Washington Nationals are headed to their first World Series in franchise history following a sweep of the St. Louis Cardinals, winning Game 4, 7-4.

The team began as the Montreal Expos in 1969 and will now await the winner of the Yankees-Astros series.

Veteran Howie Kendrick was named MVP of the National League Championship Series after going 5-for-15 with four doubles and 4 RBI.

The Houston Astros beat the New York Yankees 4-1 yesteday to take a 2-1 lead in the American League Championship Series. 

Today's Game 4 at Yankee Stadium has already been rained out and will be played Thursday at 7:08pm, Effingham time. Game 5 will be played Friday at 6:08pm, Effingham time.
