Astros Beat Rays To Win AL Division Series

The Houston Astros beat the Tampa Bay Rays 6-1 Thursday night in the deciding Game 5 of the American League Divisional Series. The Astros will now face the New York Yankees in the ALCS beginning tomorrow night.

Phillies Fire Manager

The Philadelphia Phillies have fired manager Gabe Kapler after failing to make the postseason, despite high expectations with the addition of Bryce Harper. Kapler went 161-163 in two years and 81-81 this season.

Dodgers To Retain Manager

Despite some questionable moves against the Washington Nationals, the Los Angeles Dodgers reportedly plan to retain manager Dave Roberts next season. Roberts has led the Dodgers to the NL West title in each of his four seasons with the team.

Padres' Nix Arrested

San Diego Padres pitcher Jacob Nix was arrested earlier this week in Arizona after allegedly trying to break into a home through a dog door. The homeowner kicked Nix in the face and when fellow Padres pitcher Thomas Cosgrove tried to pull him back out, the homeowner Tasered Nix in the back. The Padres said they’re aware of the incident and have been in contact with the Commissioner's Office and local authorities.
