S. Central Downs Odin/Patoka, Dieterich Wins

South Central High School tallied an 11-1 victory over Odin/Patoka in five innings via the 10-run rule Wednesday.

The Cougars had a six-run third. Odin/Patoka tallied a run in the fourth before South Central ended the game with five runs in the fifth.

C. Dodson was the winning pitcher, going three innings, allowing no hits, no walks and striking out five. A. Dodson came on to finish out the final two innings, allowing one run on one hit, two walks and nine strikeouts.

S. Rubin had a double and drove in three runs for the Cougars. A. Dodson and A. Patten had two singles and two RBI each while S. Cowger and E. Watwood also had two singles. Watwood drove in one run.

South Central returns to action Monday in the National Trail Conference Tournament. The No. 2 Cougars will host No. 7 Neoga at 4 p.m.

At Dieterich

Dieterich handed Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran a 9-0 loss in action Wednesday.

The Movin' Maroons moved into a 2-0 first inning lead then had a seven-run second.

C. Niebrugge was the opening pitcher, going two innings, allowing no hits, no walks and striking out four. M. Hunzinger threw one inning, allowing no hits while striking out three. Then came P. Britton, going one inning, allowing one hit while striking out three. N. Dill finished the final three innings, allowing one hit, one walk and striking out one.

Dieterich had nine hits led by Hunzinger with a single, double and two RBI, Britton with a triple and Will with a single and three RBI.
