T-town Beats St. A, N. Clay, Neoga Win

Behind a 10-hit attack, Teutopolis High School handed Effingham St. Anthony a 7-3 baseball loss Friday.

The Wooden Shoes stepped out to 3-0 opening inning lead and pushed that to 4-0 in the second. The Wooden Shoes tallied a run to lead 5-0 in the top of the fourth but the Bulldogs finally opened up with three runs in the bottom of the frame. The Shoes scored two more in the fifth.

Five of the 10 hits were for extra bases. Evan Wermert banged out two doubles and drove in two runs while Mitch Hardiek and Matt Deters had a double and an RBI each. Justin Hardiek added a double. Trenton Schwerdt had two singles and drove in a run.

St. Anthony had five hits led by Eli Moore with a double and two RBI and Logan Antrim with two singles and an RBI.

Schwerdt improved its record on the mound to 5-0, going all seven innings, allowing five hits, three runs, no walks and striking out three.

T-town has a 17-3 record while St. Anthony drops to 12-6.

The Bulldogs are back in action Monday at Odin. The Shoes have one game yet to play against North Clay (Louisville) at Busch Stadium but a date has not been decided yet.

At Windsor

North Clay (Louisville) edged out to a 2-1 lead on Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg then went on for an 8-1 victory Friday.

The Cardinals had 10 hits led by Clifton with four singles and three RBI, Jones with a single and double and Fleener with a double and an RBI. Ingram had a single and finished with two RBI.

Windsor/Stew-Stras was led by Gavan Wernsing with two singles, a double and an RBI and Samuel Vonderheide with a double.

Burkett was the winning pitcher on a six-hitter with no walks and five strikeouts.

At Kinmundy

Neoga took the first inning lead but South Central tied in the bottom of the second. However, the Indians went on a four-run tear in the sixth and pulled out a 7-4 win over the Cougars Friday.

Neoga had six hits led by A. Fearday with three singles and two RBI. C. Banning had a single and drove in two runs.

Walk picked up the pitching win, going 6.1 innings allowing four runs on eight hits, two walks and one strikeout.

The Cougars were led by S. Cowger with two singles and two RBI and A. Dodson and A. Lybarger with two singles each.

At Kinmundy

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg dropped two games Saturday.

The Movin' Maroons downed Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg 7-4. Dieterich stepped out to a 5-0 opening inning lead and then held off the Hatchets for the win.

Dieterich was led by Ruholl, Bushur, Lane and Bloemer with two singles each. Ruholl had two RBI while Bushur and Lane had one each.

WSS was led by B. Beals with a double.

Windsor/Stew-Stras then fell to Neoga, 12-1 in five innings via the 10-run rule.

The Indians ran off to an 8-0 opening inning lead then had a four-run fifth. Neoga was led by O'Dell with a single, double and four RBI, Koester with a single and three RBI, Reynolds with a single and two RBI and Richards with two RBI.

WSS was led by B. Beals with a triple.
