Cardinals Lock Up NL Central, Cubs Part Ways With Maddon

The St. Louis Cardinals locked up the NL Central on the final day of the regular season Sunday by beating the Chicago Cubs 9-0. The Cardinals will take on the Braves in Atlanta starting Thursday, while the second-place Milwaukee Brewers will play at Washington in the NL wild-card game Tuesday night. The winner of that game will face the Los Angeles Dodgers.


Cubs Say Goodbye To Maddon

The Chicago Cubs announced they’re parting ways with manager Joe Maddon after five seasons. In 2016, Maddon led the Cubs to their first World Series championship in 108 years.


AL Post Season Play Begins Wednesday

The American League post season will begin Wednesday with the Tampa Bay Rays at Oakland. The winner of that game will face the Houston Astros, while the Minnesota Twins will take on the New York Yankees.


MLB Wraps Up Regular Season

Major League Baseball wrapped up its regular season Sunday with a record for home runs and strikeouts. There were 6,776 homers hit this season, which is up 11% over the previous record. The Minnesota Twins hit a record 307 homers this season, one more than the Yankees. There were also 42,823 strikeouts, setting a new record for the 12th consecutive season.
