BROWNSTOWN -- Brownstown/St. Elmo blanked Ramsey 10-0 in opening round play of the Egyptian-Illini Conference Baseball Tournament Monday.

Jace McWhorter threw a no-hitter with six walks and six strikeouts.

SEB edged out to a 1-0 first inning lead then tallied two in the third, four in the fourth and three in the fifth.

Bryton Pruett went two-for-three with a single, double and two RBI. Caleb Atwood knocked out a home run and had four RBI. Francisco Viramontes had two singles and an RBI.

SEB improves to 7-7 and returns to action in the tournament today against Mulberry Grove at 4:30 p.m. at Brownstown.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City played host to Mulberry Grove and edged the visitors, 8-7.

Both teams had seven hits. CHBC was led by Q. Schlanser with a double, triple and an RBI while Buzzard had a single, double and an RBI and Weber a double and an RBI. Manley had two RBI.

Robertson picked up the pitching win, going 1.2 innings, allowing four runs on three hits, one walk and one strikeout.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City will play host to Ramsey at 4:30 p.m. today.

At Dieterich

Dieterich tallied a run in the bottom of the seventh inning to pull out a 4-3 win over Neoga in Monday action.

The Movin' Maroons led 1-0 after the fourth and 3-0 after the fifth. Neoga tied in the top of the seventh before Dieterich won it in the bottom of the frame.

Dieterich had five hits led by Britton with two of those hits, singles. Hunzinger and Kuhl had a single and an RBI each.

Neoga was led by Banning with two singles and an RBI, Moore with two singles and Roy with a double.

At Louisville

Teutopolis blanked Odin/Patoka, 10-0 in six innings Monday.

The Wooden Shoes held a 2-0 opening inning lead then tacked on two more in the third and finished the game with six runs in the sixth.

Hayden Ruholl picked up the win on the mound, going five innings, allowing one hit, two walks and striking out five.

T-town had 11 hits led by Evan Wermert with two doubles and three RBI, Evan Addis with a single, double and two RBI, Luke Ungrund with a single, double and an RBI and Mitch Hardiek with a double. The Shoes improve to 14-2 and are back in action Wednesday hosting Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg.

The lone hit for Odin/Patoka was a single by Roberts. Odin/Patoka drops to 4-13.
