GREENVILLE -- Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg Junior High School moved into the championship game of the Class 2A Greenville Baseball Regional with a victory Saturday.

In the opening game of the day, Shelbyville Moulton edged Greenville, 1-0.

In the second contest, WSS blanked Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, 3-0. WSS scored all three runs in the fifth inning.

Both teams had seven hits. Nathaniel Gracey led the winners with a single and double while Rincker had two singles and an RBI.

CHBC was led by Wyatt Rueff with three singles and Gage Lorton with two singles. CHBC ends the season at 12-6.

Windsor/Stew-Stras now faces Shelbyville Moulton at 4 p.m. today for the regional championship.

Class 2A Casey-Westfield Regional

Two local teams will square off for the championship of this regional after both were victorious Saturday.

Teutopolis opened the morning with an 11-1 win over Cumberland in five innings via the 10-run rule.

Cumberland took a 1-0 opening inning lead  on T-town but the Wooden Shoes tied in the second and opened the game up with seven runs in the third inning.

Hanson had two singles, a double and drove in two runs for the Shoes while Hille had a double and two RBI and Koester a double and an RBI. Pruemer had a single and two RBI.

Cumberland had two hits, both singles by Jackson and Koester.

Jasper County picked up a 3-2 victory over Lawrenceville Parkview in the second game.

T-town will now meet Jasper County at 4:30 p.m. today for the regional championship.

Class 2A Casey-Westfield Regional

Class 3A Charleston Regional

Effingham saw its season come to an end in the Charleston Regional Saturday.

In the opening contest, Charleston defeated Marshall 11-7. Effingham then fell to Mattoon 14-4. No other information provided.

 

Class 1A Dieterich Regional

Newton St. Thomas and South Central will meet for the regional championship today at 4:30 p.m. after both were winners Saturday.

St. Thomas won over Oblong easily, 14-4 while South Central edged North Clay (Louisville), 3-1. No other information provided.

 

Class 1A Sigel St. Michael Regional

Effingham St. Anthony and Sigel St. Michael were both winners Saturday.

St. Michael blanked Neoga, 6-0 in the first game of the day.

In the second contest, St. Anthony downed Findlay Okaw Valley, 9-0. The Bullpups edged out to a 1-0 second inning lead then tallied two runs in the third and fourth innings, three in the fifth and one in the sixth.

Joey C. Trupiano had a double and drove in two runs for St. Anthony. Connor Roepke picked up the pitching win, going five innings, allowing three hits, three walks and striking out four.

St. Anthony will now take on St. Michael at 4:30 p.m. today at Sigel Park for the regional championship.
