Altamont Wins Battle of the Indians; Other Thursday 9-19 Scores

A three-run first inning propelled the Altamont Indians to a 4-2 win over the Neoga Indians Thursday. The contest was heard on KJ Country 102.3 and www.kjcountry.com

 

Brayden Stuemke worked five innings to pick up the win for Altamont, allowing just one run on six hits while walking three and striking out four. Jared Hammer pitched the final two innings, allowing a run on two hits and a walk while fanning four. Isaac Walk took the loss for Neoga, allowing four runs, two earned, one seven hits while walking two with two strikeouts. Will O'Dell pitched the final inning, allowing one hit.

Brownstown/St. Elmo defeated Ramsey 3-1 in Egyptian-Illini Conference action Thursday.

BSE scored twice in the first and added a run in the sixth. Ramsey scored their lone run in the third inning. 

Dalton Myers got the win for the Bombers, going six plus innings and allowing just two hits while walking two and fanning four. Brady Maxey finished up to earn a save. Allen took the loss for the Rams, allowing eight hits in going the distance.

At the plate for BSE: Caleb Atwood homered, doubled and singled and drove in all three Bomber runs. Also, Brady Maxey singled, Bryton Pruett had two hits, and Dalton Myers and Wyatt Chandler singled. For Ramsey, Seaton and Reiss each singled.

BSE improved to 5-7 on the season, 2-0 in EIC play.

In another Egyptian Illini contest, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City pounded Mulberry Grove 10-0. Wells got the win with four innings of work, allowing two hits and walking two while striking out six batters. Buzzard finished up, allowing two hits in two innings' work with a strikeout.
