Altamont Hands Dieterich Loss, Area Baseball Roundup

Altamont High School came from behind to end up with a 5-3 victory over Dieterich Tuesday in a game heard on KJ Country 102.3.
The Indians edged out to a 1-0 lead in the third inning when Kaden Eirhart singled and came home on a double by Noah Teasley.
But Dieterich got untracked and brought home three runs in the top of the fourth. Dalton Will led off the inning by drawing a walk. Garrett Niebrugge sacrificed him over. Will came home on a single by Matthew Hunzinger. Cole Niebrugge followed with a single and Pete Britton was hit by a pitch. Derrick Kuhl singled home the second run. The third run came on a sacrifice fly by Lucas Hall.
Altamont pulled within 3-2 in the fourth as Hunter Cripe singled and took second on a wild pitch. Tyler Robbins singled home Cripe. The Indians tied in the fifth. With two out, Bradin Baucum had an infield single followed by a sinlge by Cripe. Tyler Robbins then singled home Baucum.
The Indians scored two in the sixth for the win. Mason Robinson led off with a single and Brayden Stuemke had a bunt single. Jared Hammer had a sacrifice single and Eirhart followed with a single scoring a run. A fly ball by Teasley scored the second run.
The Indians were on track in the hitting department by banging out 12. Robbins led the way with two singles, a double and two RBI while Teasley chipped in with a single, double and two RBI and Eirhart had two singles and an RBI. Cripe nailed two singles.
Teasley was the winning pitcher, throwing a four-hitter with one walk and nine strikeouts.
Dieterich was led by Derek Kuhl with a single, double and an RBI.

Zipping right along, South Central blanked St. Elmo/Brownstown to pick up another National Trail Conference victory Tuesday, 7-0.
The Cougars are now 6-1 in the conference and 10-1 overall.
A. Dodson was the winning pitcher, throwing a one-hitter, allowing four walks and striking out 10. H. Brandt came on to finish the final innning with two strikeouts.
H. VanScyoc led the way in hitting with three singles and an RBI. S. Cowger had a single and two RBI.
St. Elmo/Brownstown was led by C. Atwood with the lone hit, a single. The Eagles dropped to 0-6 in the conference, 4-7 overall.

At Louisville
North Clay (Louisville) also continues to roll in the National Trail Conference. This time around it was Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City as the Cardinals won 9-0.
North Clay had six hits in the contest and was aided by seven errors by CHBC.
Ingram had a single, triple and drove in two runs for the winners while Ballard had a single and two RBI.
Fleener was the winning pitcher, allowing two hits, no walks and striking out three. North Clay improved to 6-0 in the conference, 11-1 overall.
CHBC was led by Radloff with two singles.

Luke Ungrund threw a three-hitter as Teutopolis handed Woodlawn a 2-0 loss Tuesday.
The Wooden Shoes tallied their two runs in the first inning. T-town had six hits, all singles by Ungrund, Mitch Hardiek, Trenton Schwerdt, Evan Wermert, Brock Deters and Evan Addis. MitchHemmen had an RBI.
The Shoes are now 12-2 on the season while Woodlawn dropped to 2-4. Ungrund improved his pitching record to 2-0.

Neoga tallied an 11-4 win over Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran Tuesday.
The Indians stepped out to a 2-1 first inning lead and was never headed. Neoga had eight hits led by Ramert with a single, double and an RBI, Lacy with a double and an RBI and Banning with a triple and three RBI. Moore added two singles and an RBI.
Neoga had six pitchers. Romack went 1.1 innings allowing no hits and striking out two for the win.
