North Clay (Louisville) handed Effingham Sacred Heart a 10-6 loss in junior high baseball action Monday.
The two teams were tied at 2-2 in the first inning before North Clay moved ahead 3-2 in the second. The Shamrocks led 5-3 in the top of the fourth before North Clay came back in the bottom of the inning to score three runs and never looked back.
C. Zimdars had three singles while C. Dawkins and J. Weidner had a double and an RBI each for North Clay.
Sacred Heart was led by Brant with a single and two doubles, Boehm three singles and an RBI, Boyajian two singles and three RBI and Wallace two singles.

At Casey
Effingham took the early lead and claimed an 11-5 win over Casey-Westfield Monday.
The Mustangs stepped out to a 2-0 opening inning lead and pushed that to 4-0 in the second. Casey-Westfield came back with a run in the third, tied in the fourth and moved ahead 5-4 in the fifth. But Effingham rallied with two runs in the sixth and finished out strong with five runs in the seventh for the win.
Raddatz had two singles, a home run and two RBI for Effingham while Webb had a double and drove in two runs.
Casey-Westfield outhit Effingham by a 10-6 count but the homestanders had seven errors.
Effingham ended regular season play with an 11-8 record and will open regional action Wednesday against Danville North Ridge at Effingham at 4:30 p.m.

At Cowden
Newton St. Thomas picked up a 10-8 victory over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Monday.
St. Thomas led 3-1 after the first inning then had to hold off a charging CHBC in the final innings. CHBC tied the score at 6-6 in the fifth but St. Thomas scored two in the sixth and two in the seventh.
St. Thomas had six hits led by Gus Bierman and Seth Ochs with two singles each.
CHBC was led by Gage Lorton with two singles, a triple and two RBI, Clayton Wojcik with a double and Wyatt Rueff with two singles and an RBI. CHBC dropped to 12-5 on the season and had finished the National Trail Conference season at 8-1.

At Altamont
Altamont outlasted Dieterich in a battle of runs Monday, 17-16.
Altamont took a 2-1 opening inning lead and led 6-4 after three. Dieterich moved ahead in the top of the fifth with nine runs. Altamont came back with three runs in the fifth and regained the lead with five in the sixth. The score was tied at 15-15 in the seventh sending the game into extra innings. Both teams scored a run in the eighth before Altamont won it in the ninth.
Altamont was led by Fenton with a triple and Kollmann with two singles.

Jasper County handed Paris Mayo an 11-2 loss in action Monday.
Jasper County banged out 16 hits in the contest led by Wolf with three singles and three RBI, Flowers with two singles, a triple and three RBI, Meinhart with two singles and two RBI, Barthelme with a triple and two RBI and Probst with two singles.
Wolf picked up the pitching win in relief, going three innings, allowing two hits, five walks and striking out four.
