Jasper County claimed a 7-2 win over Effingham St. Anthony in junior high baseball competition Friday.

Isaac Flowers picked up the pitching win as Jasper County improved to 10-4. Flowers went all seven innings, allowing six hits, no walks and striking out 10.

Getting hits for Jasper County were M. Meinhart with three singles and two RBI, P. Wolf with three singles, C. Nichols with a single, double and an RBI, K. Barthelme with two singles; Flowers with a double and an RBi and P. Harris with a single.

No names were listed for St. Anthony.

Jasper County tallied an 8-6 win over Palestine/Hutsonville Saturday. Brady Clark was the winning pitcher.

K. Tonn had two singles and an RBI, N. Songer a double and an RBI, C. Ochs two singles and an RBI, M. Neal a double, G. James a single and B. Clark a single and an RBI.

 

At Brownstown

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City edged out to a 1-0 first inning lead then went on to beat Brownstown/St. Elmo, 12-1 in five innings via the 10-run rule.

Wyatt Rueff had a single, double and two RBI while Kaleb Melvin had two singles and an RBI and Gage Lorton two singles and two RBI for the winners.

BSE was led by Cade Schaub with the lone hit, a single.

Clayton Wojcik picked up the one-hit pitching win.

Neoga handed Altamont a 12-4 loss in competition Friday.

Neoga stepped out to a 4-2 opening inning lead then had a seven-run fourth.

Altamont was led by Magalitz with three singles and McCammon with two singles.
