NEOGA -- Effingham St. Anthony High School handed Neoga a 10-2 loss in baseball competition Thursday.

The Bulldogs moved ahead 2-0 in the third inning. Both teams scored two runs in the fifth before St. A went ahead 8-2 in the sixth and tacked on two more in the seventh.

Fearday had a big night for the Bulldogs. He knocked out two home runs along with a single and finished with six RBI. Mendella also went long with a home run and had a single to finish with an RBI. Webb had two doubles and an RBI.

Neoga was led by Fearday with a single and double and Moore with two singles.

Webb picked up the pitching win, going four innings, allowing six hits, three walks and striking out six.

At Teutopolis

In a game heard on KJ Country 102.3, Teutopolis picked up a 9-3 win over Dieterich Thursday.

The Movin' Maroons stepped out to a 3-0 first inning lead but that didn't last long as T-town tallied six in the second and then finished out with three runs in the fourth.

T-town had nine hits led by Mitch Hemmen with two singles and two RBI and Mitch Hardiek with a double. Luke Ungrund drove in two runs and had a single.

Dieterich was led by Hunzinger with a double and C. Niebrugge with two singles. The Movin' Maroons drop to 5-5 on the season. The Maroons return to action today playing host to St. Anthony.

T-town's Evan Addis picked up his first win on the mound going five innings, allowing three runs on four hits, one walk and striking out two. The Shoes are now 9-2 and will be back in action today at Woodlawn.

Brownstown/St. Elmo downed Cisne 12-2 in five innings of action Thursday.

BSE had 12 hits in the game led by Bryton Pruett with two singles and a double, Dalton Myers with three singles and four RBI, Francisco Viramontes with two singles and two RBI and Jace McWhorter with a double and two RBI.

Myers was the winning pitcher, going all five innings, allowing two runs on six hits, no walks and six strikeouts.

BSE took a 3-0 opening inning lead and never looked back in improving to 4-5.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City trailed Ramsey 2-0 until the third inning before moving ahead 3-2. Ramsey tied in the bottom of the frame but CHBC went on to score one in the sixth and finish out with four in the seventh for an 8-3 victory Thursday.

CHBC had nine hits led by Q. Schlanser with a single, double and two RBI, M. Manley with three singles and two RBI and J. Robertson with two singles and two RBI.

Manley picked up the pitching win on a five-hitter with one walk and seven strikeouts.

South Central cut loose with four runs in the fourth and went on to beat Odin/Patoka, 10-3 in action Thursday.

The Cougars hit the long ball with H. Brandt and S. Cowger garnering a single and a home run each. Cowger finished with four RBI while Brandt had two. A. Dodson had a single, double and two RBI and A. Patten two singles and an RBI.

A. Dodson picked up the pitching win, going four innings, allowing one walk and striking out three.

Altamont pounded out 13 hits and finished by blanking Mulberry Grove 14-0 in five innings Thursday.

The Indians went to town at the plate as K. Eirhart had three singles and four RBI, J. Hammer a single, double and two RBI, B. Baucum, two singles and an RBI, H. Cripe a double and two RBI, N. Teasley a double and an RBI and T. Robbins two singles.

Robbins picked up the win on the mound, going three innings, allowing three hits, no walks and five strikeouts.

North Clay (Louisville) edged out to a 1-0 opening inning lead and went on to beat Webber Township (Bluford), 10-1 Thursday.

The Cardinals had three pitchers combine for a two-hitter. Burkett got the win, going two innings, allowing one hit, no walks and striking out five. Fleener came on to throw four innings, allowing one hit, one run, one walk and two strikeouts. Clifton finished out the final inning with one walk and two strikeouts.

North Clay was led by Jones with a single, triple and three RBI, Dawkins with a single and double, Ballard with a double and two RBI and Ingram with a double and an RBI. Griffy added two singles. The Cardinals are now 8-1 on the season.
