Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City handed Effingham Sacred Heart an 18-0 loss in junior high baseball competition Tuesday.

CHBC led 2-0 after four innings then broke loose with seven runs in the fifth and nine in the sixth.

CHBC had 16 hits led by Dacotah Waters with a double and an RBI, Carson Evans with three singles and an RBI and Clayton Wojcik, Wyatt Rueff and Rylee Fisher with two singles each. Waters drove in three runs while Rueff had two RBI and Wojcik one. The Bobcats improve to 10-4 on the season.

Sacred Heart's two hits were by Biggs with a single and double.

Effingham dropped a 6-0 contest to Mattoon in Tuesday competition.

The Mustangs had only two hits, singles by Fox and Webb. Mattoon tallied 12 hits in the game.

Mattoon took a 1-0 lead in the second then had a five-run fifth.

At Altamont

Stewardson-Strasburg took a 3-0 lead in the second inning then finished the game after four by a 16-0 count over Altamont Tuesday.

Stew-Stras had eight hits and was aided by 11 walks and four Altamont errors.

Justin Kollmann had the lone hit for Altamont with a single.

At Sullivan

Teutopolis brought home nine runs and handed Sullivan a 9-2 Tuesday loss.

The Wooden Shoes trailed Sullivan 2-0 until the fourth then tallied a run and took the lead with three in the fifth. They opened up the game with four runs in the sixth and one in the seventh.

B. Kreke had a single, double and an RBI for the winners while E. Hanson added two singles and an RBI. The Wooden Shoes are unbeaten at 12-0.

Jasper County blanked Neoga 15-0 in action Tuesday to improve to 8-4 on the season.

Twelve Jasper County players got hits. M. Meinhart led the way with a single, two doubles and six RBI while C. James had a single, double and two RBI. E. Johnson, L. Ochs, P. Wolf, K. Uebinger and L. Burgener had two singles each. Wolf had two RBI while Ochs and Burgener had one each.

Brady Clark picked up the pitching win, going three innings, allowing no hits, one walk and striking out five. He took over for J. Hawkins who went two innings, not allowing a hit, two walks and striking out three. K. Barthelme came on to get the final two outs allowing one walk and striking out one.

Casey-Westfield edged North Clay (Louisville), 6-5 in action Tuesday.

North Clay held a 4-0 lead until the third when Casey-Westfield tied then moved ahead with single runs in the fourth and fifth. North Clay had a comeback bid in the bottom of the seventh, scoring one run, but fell short.

E. Kuenstler had a single, double and an RBI for North Clay while C. Dawkins had three singles.
