Bulldogs Win Over Neoga in NTC Action Tuesday

The St. Anthony Bulldogs broke open a tight ballgame in the later innings and ended up posting an 11-1 six-inning victory over the Neoga Indians. The contest at Paul Smith Field at Community Park was heard on 979XFM and www.979xfm.com.

St. Anthony scored twice in the first inning. Logan Antrim led off the Bulldogs' attack with a single and stole second base, then Kaden Fearday drove him home to make it 1-0. After Fearday was balked to second base, Davis Tingley doubled him home for the second run.

Neoga bounced back, though, with a run in the second. Nate Lacy worked a leadoff walk and an error moved him to second base. A Luke Romack single made it 2-1.

The game stayed 2-1 until the bottom of the fourth when St. Anthony scored three runs to widen the lead. A leadoff single and error put Tingley at second base. Aaron Webb walked and then with one out, Kennan Walsh singled. Eli Moore then singled home a run to make it 3-1 and a fielder's choice by Angelo Mendella scored another run, with St. Anthony eventually taking a 5-1 lead by the end of the inning.

The Bulldogs added two runs in the fifth. With one out, Kaden Fearday singled then with two outs, back-to-back singles by Webb and Colton Fearday made it 7-1. 

St. Anthony ended the game with four runs in the sixth inning, helped along by a single by Eli Moore, a fielder's choice by Logan Antrim, a walk to Brody Niebrugge, and three wild pitches including one that ended the game.

Kaden Fearday pitched a gem to win for St. Anthony, allowing one run on four hits, walking two and striking out 10.

Isaac Walk took the loss for Neoga, allowing seven runs, six earned, on nine hits and two walks while fanning three. Kaden Young pitched the final inning, surrendering four runs on two hits and a walk while striking out one batter.
