Effingham Junior High School claimed a 19-3 win over Dieterich in baseball action Friday.

Donaldson was the winning pitcher, going two innings, allowing one hit, five walks and striking out five.

Fox had a solo home run for the Mustangs. Lewis had a single, two doubles and four RBI while Pals had two singles, a double and five RBI, Schaefer a double and an RBI, Nichols a double and two RBI, Jones a single, double and an RBI and Raddatz two singles.

Effingham competed in the Mount Zion Round Robin Saturday.

The Mustangs downed host Mount Zion 4-2. Effingham took a 1-0 lead in the first then tallied two in the third and one in the seventh.

Verdeyen had a double and drove in two runs for the Mustangs.

In the second contest, Effingham fell to St. Joseph, 11-7. St. Joe took a 6-3 opening inning lead and had a four-run fourth.

Fox had three singles and an RBI while Raddatz had a single, triple and an RBI for the Mustangs. Lewis added a double and two RBI.

At Cowden

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City played host to Neoga and sent the visitor's home with an 6-2 loss Friday.

Neoga edged ahead 1-0 in the first but CHBC tied in the third and went on to score single runs in the fourth and fifth and three in the sixth.

Clayton Wojcik had a single, double and two RBI while Carson Evans had two singles and an RBI and Rylee Fisher two signles.

Neoga was led by Lacy with a single and an RBI and Probst with a single.

At St. Anthony

Teutopolis pounded out 10 hits and took a 12-2 win over Effingham St. Anthony Saturday in the A game.

The Wooden Shoes took a 2-0 second inning lead then tacked on six in the third, one in the fourth and finished out with four in the seventh.

J. Niebrugge had a double, triple and drove in seven runs while E. Waldhoff and T. Pruemer had a double and an RBI each. E. Hanson added two singles and two RBI.

R. Connor led the Bullpups with a double.

In the B contest, T-town was a 13-1 winner behind nine hits. Mick Niebrugge drove in one with a double. Conner Hoelscher, Augie Jansen, Jackson Kinkelaar and Niebrugge all moved runners across the plate in the third inning with RBI.

Effingham Sacred Heart defeated Newton St. Thomas in junior high baseball action Saturday, 8-6.

The Shamrocks were led offensively by Noah Biggs and Jacob Boyajian. Biggs had three hits and three RBI while Boyajian had two hits and two RBI. Biggs was the winning pitcher.
