Effingham St. Anthony captured two victories over Altamont while the Indians claimed one in Friday and Saturday high school baseball action.

In the Friday contest, Altamont committed seven errors as the Bulldogs won 10-1. The Indians took a 1-0 first inning lead but St. Anthony tied in the second then tallied four in the fifth and five in the sixth.

K. Fearday had a single, double and two RBI for the Bulldogs while D. Tingley had a double and an RBI.

Altamont was led by B. Baucum with a double.

In Saturday play at Altamont, St. Anthony stepped out to a 3-0 lead in the second inning and went on for a 10-4 opening game win.

J. Hoene had a single, double and an RBI while L.Antrim, K. Fearday and A. Webb had a double each.

T. Robbins led Altamont with a double.

In the second contest, Altamont claimed a 7-3 victory. Both teams had five hits in the contest while St. Anthony finished with four errors.

Altamont was led by N. Teasley with a double.

St. Anthony was led by K. Walsh with a triple and J. Hoene with a double.

At Dieterich

South Central took a 4-1 lead in the fourth inning and went on to down Dieterich 5-2 in Friday action.

The Cougars had nine hits led by H. Brandt with a solo homer, C. Dodson with a double and H. VanScyoc and A. Dodson with two singles each. H. VanScyoc had an RBI.

Dieterich was led by P. Britton with the only two hits, both singles and an RBI.

The Cougars are now 4-0 in the National Trail Conference, 7-0 overall.

Windsor/;Stewardson-Strasburg took the early lead and held on for a 3-1 victory over St. Elmo/Brownstown Friday.

S. Vonderheide had a double while A. Wittenberg and J. Wittenberg had two singles each. J. Wittenberg added an RBI.

G. Wernsing picked up the pitching win, going 4.2 innings, allowing one hit and striking out 11.

SEB was led by J. McWhorter and C. Nugent with a double each.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City edged out to a 2-0 first inning lead and led 3-1 after three innings. But Neoga came back with five-run innings in the fourth and fifth for an 11-4 win Friday.

The Indians had 11 hits led by K. Young with a single, double and three RBI, A. Ramert with two singles and an RBI, C. Banning with two singles, T. Moore with a double and two RBI and L. Romack with a double.

CHBC was led by A. Weber with two singles and two RBI.

Teutopolis ended this game by the 10-run rule in the fifth, 13-2 over Odin/Patoka Friday.

The Wooden Shoes banged out 14 hits led by Mitch Hemmen with four singles and four RBI, Evan Wermert with three singles and three RBI, Justin Hardiek with three singles and two RBI, Luke Ungrund with a single and double and Mitch Hardiek and Brady McMahon with a double each.

M. Hardiek picked up the pitching win, going four innings, allowing two runs on three hits, four walks and five strikeouts.

Cisne downed North Clay (Louisville) in a Saturday contest, 7-3 despite being outhit 10-3.

The Cardinals committed five errors in the contest.

North Clay took a 2-0 opening inning lead but Cisne came back with three runs in the second and one in the fourth. Leading 4-3 going into the fifth, the Runnin' Lions tallied two then added on one in the sixth.

Cisne had only three hits, all singles by Atwood, Keck and K. Dagg. Keck and Dagg had an RBI each while Bowen had two RBI.

North Clay was led by J. Compton with three singles, C. Dawkins with a single, double and two RBI and C. Zimdars with two singles.
