Effingham fell to Charleston in junior high baseball action Thursday, 11-3.

The score was tied at 3-3 after the first inning but Charleston moved ahead with a run in the second then tacked on three in the fourth and two in the sixth and seventh.

Effingham had eight hits led by Lewis with a single, double and an RBI and Raddatz with two singles.

At Beecher City

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City edged out to a 1-0 opening inning lead and went on to beat Altamont 11-1 in five innings via the 10-run rule Thursday.

CHBC had 10 hits led by Kaleb Melvin and Dacotah Waters with two singles and an RBI each. Six other players tallied a single each.

Jaxon Manley picked up the win on the mound, going four innings.

CHBC improved to 7-4 on the season.
