Altamont, CHBC, S. Central Nab Baseball Victories

RAMSEY -- Altamont High School trailed Ramsey 3-1 until the third inning then took the lead for good and went on to win, 16-10 in baseball action Thursday.

 

The Indians scored a run in the first when J. Hammer singled, went to second and third on passed balls and came home on a ground out.

Ramsey then took a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the frame on two hits and an error.

The Indians were quiet in the second but came to life with five runs in the third on an error, a single by K. Eirhart, a walk to L. Cornett, a single by H. Cripe and another error and wild pitch.

The lead went to 11-1 in the fourth. Getting singles in the inning were Shepard, Eirhart and Cornett. Then in the fifth, the Indians moved the score to 16-3 before Ramsey batted in the bottom of the frame to score three runs. Ramsey then came back with four runs in the sixth and that's where the scoring ended.

Eirhart finished with two singles and a double while Cornett had a single and double and Kollmann a double for Altamont.

At Cowden

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City stepped out to a 4-0 opening inning lead, tallied four more in the second and went on for a 12-2 victory over Mulberry Grove in six innings Thursday.

CHBC had nine hits led by M. Manley with two doubles and three RBI, W. Radloff with two singles, a double and an RBI and Q. Schlanser with a single, double and three RBI. S. Buzzard added two singles.

Manley threw a four-hitter with three walks and six strikeouts.

At Cowden

At Kinmundy

South Central's A. Patten picked up the win on the mound, throwing a one-hitter as the Cougars beat Cisne 13-1 in five innings Thursday.

Patten went four innings allowing three walks and striking out eight. A. Dodson came on in relief in the fifth, allowing no hits, no walks and striking out two.

A. Lybarger and C. Dodson had a single and double each. Dodson drove in three runs while Lybarger had two RBI. Cowger had three singles and two RBI and VanScyoc and Rubin a double each. Rubin had two RBI and VanScyoc one.
