Dieterich High School blanked St. Elmo/Brownstown in National Trail Conference baseball action Tuesday, 9-0.

 

The Movin' Maroons edged out to a 2-0 first inning lead and never looked back in this one.

Dieterich had 10 hits led by M. Hunzinger with a double, triple and an RBI, C.Niebrugge with a single, double and five RBI and D. Will with two singles.

St. Elmo/Brownstown was led by D. Myers with two singles.

C. Niebrugge was the winning pitcher, going five innings, allowing five hits, no walks and striking out five.

Altamont claimed a 5-1 victory over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City in National Trail Conference play Tuesday.

The Indians had five hits and were aided by four CHBC errors. K. Eirhart had a triple and drove in a run while A. Kopplin also had a triple. B. Baucum added a double.

Q. Schlanser led CHBC with a single and double.

K. Eirhart threw six innings, allowing four hits, one run, one walk and striking out six.

CHBC was led in hitting by  Q. Schlanser with a single and double.

At Altamont

At Strasburg

North Clay (Louisville) took control early, stepping out to a 10-0 first inning lead and went on to down Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg, 14-1 in five innings Tuesday.

The Cardinals had eight hits led by Ballard with a single and three RBI. Jones, Clifton, Ingram, Burkett and Zimmerman had a single and an RBI each.

WSS was led by A. Wittenberg with a single, double and an RBI.

South Central ended this game in five innings via the 10-run rule over Neoga, 13-0. The Cougars are 3-0 in the National Trail Conference, 5-0 overall.

The Cougars banged out 14 hits, including three home runs. H. Brandt led the way with two home runs and three RBI while C. Dodson had a single, home run and an RBI and S. Cowger had a double and triple.

J. Grzegorek pitched 1.2 innings for the win, allowing no hits, four walks and striking out four. Dodson came on to throw 1.1 innings allowing no hits, one walk and two strikeouts. E. Watwood finished out going two innings, allowing one hit, one walk and striking out one.
