Shoes Top Indians, Dieterich Wins In H.S. Baseball

TEUTOPOLIS -- Teutopolis handed Neoga a 4-2 loss in high school baseball action Thursday.
The two teams were tied at 1-1 after two innings. The Wooden Shoes moved ahead with a run in the third then pushed that to 4-1 in the fifth. The Indians tallied a final run in the sixth.
T-town had nine hits in the contest led by Mitch Hemmen with a double and two RBI, Brock Deters with a double and Trenton Schwerdt with two singles.
Luke Ungrund picked up the pitching win, going 3.1 innings, allowing one run on one hit, one walk and five strikeouts.
The Indians had three hits, led by I. Walk with a solo home run.
T-town also claimed a junior varsity victory, 12-2 in six innings. Neoga led 2-1 until the sixth when T-town exploded for 11 runs.
M. Deters had a double, home run and three RBI while D. Konkel had a double and an RBI.
Neoga was led by A. Helmuth with two sngles.

Odin/Patoka edged out to a 3-0 lead after two innings but Dieterich came back within 5-4 in the top of the sixth then tallied four runs in the bottom of the frame for a 7-5 victory Thursday.
Both teams had nine hits. Dieterich was led by M. Hunzinger with two doubles and an RBI, L. Hall with two singles and three RBI and D. Will with two singles.
N. Dill was the winning pitcher, going the last two innings, allowing two hits, one run, two walks and striking out two.
