TEUTOPOLIS -- Teutopolis took a 2-0 first inning lead and went on for a 13-3 victory over Effingham St. Anthony in junior high baseball action Tuesday.

The game ended in the fifth inning via the 10-run rule. The Wooden Shoes had 14 hits led by Eli Hanson with a single, two doubles and four RBI, Tyler Pruemer with a single, double and three RBI, Evan Waldhoff with a single, double and an RBI, Ethan Thoele with a double and a RBI, Garrett Gaddis with two singles and an RBI and Jackson Hille with two singles.

St. Anthony had four hits led by Elliot Frisbie with two singles.

Pruemer threw the four-hitter with three walks and three strikeouts.

At Flora

Flora had a 10-run fifth inning and handed Effingham a 16-9 loss in action Tuesday.

Neither team scored until the third when both tallied a single run. Effingham moved ahead 4-1 in the top of the fourth but Flora came back to take the lead with five runs. The Mustangs fought back and led 8-6 in the top of the fifth. But Flora scored 10 runs in the bottom of the frame.

Effingham outhit Flora 19-13. Raddatz had three singles, a double and two RBI while Fox had two singles, a double and an RBI. Lewis added three singles and an RBI, Webb a double and an RBI, Nichols two singles and Verdeyen and Donaldson two singles and two RBI each.

Effingham drops to 3-5 on the season.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City edged North Clay (Louisville), 14-13 in action Tuesday.

North Clay held a 9-7 lead after four innings and added on another run in the top of the fifth. But CHBC came back with a seven-run bottom of the frame to lead 14-10. North Clay made a comeback in the seventh, scoring three runs, but fell short.

CHBC had 16 hits led by Jaxon Manley with a single and double, Gage Lorton and Rylee Fisher with three singles and an RBI each and Dacotah Waters with three singles and two RBI.

North Clay was led by Conner Dawkins with a single, double and two RBI, Trey Wells with two singles and a double, Cody Zimdars with three singles and an RBI and Jack Compton and Jesse Weidner with two singles each. Weidner drove in four runs.

Okaw Valley took the early lead but Neoga fought back to move ahead 4-3 in the bottom of the fourth and that's where the scoring ended Tuesday.

Neoga had seven hits led by J. Ballinger with a single and triple, T. Sheehan with a double and an RBI and K. Lacy with a double and two RBI. M. Stazak contributed two singles.

Gentry picked up the pitching win, going three inings allowing no hits, three walks and striking out four.
