Effingham Sacred Heart handed Brownstown/St.Elmo a 9-2 loss in junior high baseball action Monday.

The Shamrocks were led offensively by Henry Brent who collected three hits and Austin Borries with two hits.

Brody Boehn picked up the pitching win, throwing five innings of two-run ball. Tyler Sparks finished the final two innings.

The Shamrocks are now 2-1 on the season.

At Sacred Heart

At Effingham

Salem Franklin Park came calling and claimed an 11-5 win over Effingham Monday.

The Wildcats held a 4-2 lead after two innings. Effingham tied in the third at 4-4 and the score was again tied at 5-5 in the fourth. Salem then had a three-run fifth and a three-run seventh.

Leading Effingham in hitting was Raddatz with a single, triple and an RBI and Koeberlein with two singles and an RBI.

Effingham drops to 3-4 on the season.

Sigel St. Michael played host to Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City and captured an 11-2 win Monday.

The two teams were scoreless through two innings before the Sharpshooters tallied six in the third and went on for the victory.

St. Michael had 10 hits led by Brady Hatton with two singles, a double and an RBI, Zac Niebrugge with a single, double and two RBI, Brock Fearday with a double and an RBI and Riley Durdel with a double.

CHBC was led by Dacotah Waters with a double and Carson Evans with two singles and an RBI. CHBC drops to 3-3 on the season.

Neoga stepped out to an 8-2 opening inning lead and never looked back in a 17-2 win over Dieterich in five innings Monday.

Neoga had nine hits led by Ballinger with three singles and two RBI and Probst with two singles and four RBI.

Lanham went one inning allowing one hit, two walks and striking out three while Blazich came on to go four innings, allowing one hit, two walks and striking out three.

Teutopolis ran off to an 11-0 opening inning lead and the game was over. The Shoes finished with a 15-0 win in three innings over Vandalia Monday.

Gaddis picked up the win on the mound, going one inning, allowing one hit, no walks and one strikeout. Hille pitched the second and third innings allowing no hits, no walks and striking out one.

J. Niebrugge had two doubles and drove in two runs while E. Hanson had two singles and an RBI and E. Waldhoff a double and an RBI.

Altamont traveled to Shelbyville Moulton and suffered a 10-0 loss in five innings Monday.

Moulton took a 1-0 first inning lead then tacked on single runs in the third and fourth and had a seven-run fifth.

Altamont did not get a hit in the contest and suffered through 12 players striking out.

Charleston had 15 hits in downing Jasper County, 10-2 in Monday action.
