Chicago Cubs reliever Brandon Morrow has been shut down for the season due to ongoing elbow trouble that’ll require surgery. Morrow never appeared in a game for the Cubs after they signed him to a deal that included $21 million in guaranteed money.

Orioles Tie Record

The Baltimore Orioles tied a major league record Wednesday night in their 8-1 win over the Kansas City Royals by allowing their 258th home run this season. With over a month left in the regular season, the Orioles are a lock to set a record that should stand for some time.

Astros On Short End

The Houston Astros were on the short end of another record breaking loss Wednesday as they fell 2-1 to the Detroit Tigers. Justin Verlander pitched a two-hitter, but they were both home runs. The Tigers had closed as a record +435 underdog at Caesars Sportsbook, making their win the largest upset in an MLB game in the past 15 seasons.
