ST. LOUIS -- St. Louis Cardinals' Jack Flaherty held the Chicago Cubs without a hit into the sixth inning before Nicholas Castellanos singled to break up the no-hitter.

Flaherty kept the Cubs off-balance and went seven innings to improve his record to 5-6 on the season as the Cardinals won 8-0. Flaherty had gone winless through the last 12 starts. He finished with nine strikeouts and allowed two walks.

St. Louis went through five Cubs pitchers, banging out 14 hits including a sixth inning home run by Matt Wieters and doubles by Tommy Edman and Paul Dejong. Dejong also had two singles. Wieters finished with a single to go with that home run and had three RBI. Kolten Wong had three singles and an RBI. Yairo Munoz had two singles and two RBI.
